The landmark investment, announced by Gallus and Heidelberg on the opening day of LOUPE India 2026, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of hybrid label printing in Asia.
Ahmedabad-based Letra Graphix is set to become the first company in Asia to install the Gallus Five hybrid digital press, following a landmark announcement by Gallus and Heidelberg on the opening day of LOUPE India 2026.
The announcement was made during a special ceremony at the exhibition, marking an important milestone for both Letra Graphix and the Asian label printing industry. The Gallus Five was first unveiled at Labelexpo Europe (now LOUPE) in Barcelona in September 2025, and its selection by Letra Graphix represents a significant step towards expanding the adoption of advanced hybrid printing technologies in the region.
The announcement ceremony featured a video presentation of the press, followed by a celebration attended by senior representatives from Gallus, Heidelberg and the Letra Graphix team.
Sahil Shah, director of Letra Graphix, expressed confidence in the investment, highlighting the company’s ambition to strengthen its premium label production capabilities. He noted that the new press would enable Letra Graphix to deliver high-end, high-quality labels while exploring new opportunities in value-added label applications.
This acquisition marks Letra Graphix’s second investment in a Gallus hybrid digital press, underlining its continued commitment to technology advancement and innovation. The investment is expected to further strengthen the company’s ability to serve the growing demand for premium labels, offering a wider range of possibilities in decoration, variable data printing, encoding and security applications.
A new benchmark in hybrid label production
Unveiled at Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona, the Gallus Five combines digital inkjet printing with conventional printing and finishing processes in a single hybrid production platform. Designed to bring together the flexibility of digital printing and the capabilities of conventional technologies, the press enables converters to address a broad range of production requirements.
Its hybrid architecture offers opportunities for short-run production, variable-data applications and value-added embellishments, allowing converters to respond to increasingly diverse brand-owner requirements. The platform also supports the development of sophisticated label applications where print quality, flexibility and production efficiency are critical.
For Letra Graphix, the investment represents more than an addition to its machinery portfolio. It reflects a strategic move towards expanding its presence in the premium label segment and offering customers access to a broader spectrum of innovative printing and finishing possibilities.
With the installation of Asia’s first Gallus Five, Letra Graphix is set to establish a new milestone in the region’s hybrid label printing landscape. The investment also reinforces the growing confidence of Indian converters in advanced hybrid technologies as they look to address evolving market demands and create greater value through innovation.a
