At LOUPE India 2026, Xuming Yuan, Vice President and General Manager – APAC, and Niraj Narendra Muni, General Manager – India, Maxcess, discuss India’s growth potential, investments in local capabilities, complete converting solutions and the importance of long-standing customer relationships.

Maxcess is strengthening its focus on India through investments in local engineering, repair services, assembly capabilities and customer support. At LOUPE India 2026, the company is showcasing its portfolio of converting solutions, covering applications from unwind to rewind, while highlighting technologies designed to improve productivity, reduce waste and help converters overcome everyday production challenges.

In an interview with Labels, Flexibles & More, Xuming Yuan and Niraj Narendra Muni share their perspectives on market opportunities, localisation, service capabilities and the company’s plans for supporting India’s evolving labels and packaging industry.

India Emerges as a Key Growth Market

Q: How do you view the current market situation, particularly in India, amid global uncertainties?

Xuming Yuan, Vice President and General Manager – APAC, Maxcess: Globally, there are uncertainties, particularly because of the situation in the Middle East. However, from an Asia-Pacific perspective, the market remains relatively stable, especially in India.

We anticipate that India will be one of the most important growth markets for us in APAC. China continues to grow, although its growth is becoming flatter, while India is growing at a faster pace.

That is one of the reasons we continue to invest in India. We started with local repair services and subsequently moved into local assembly. We also have local engineering capabilities, along with dedicated sales, customer service and support teams.

We believe India represents a huge future market, with customer requirements continuing to advance. Our commitment to India, including our support for Maxcess and brands such as RotoMetrics, will continue in the coming years.

Complete Converting Solutions from Unwind to Rewind

Q: What is Maxcess showcasing at LOUPE India 2026?

Maxcess team: We are showcasing complete converting solutions, covering the entire process from unwind to rewind. We can support converters from the point they load a roll through to the completion of the finished product.

Our portfolio includes Fife for web guiding, Tidland for slitting and winding-related solutions, and RotoMetrics for precision tooling. These established brands enable us to address a wide range of converter requirements.

We also continue to innovate with a focus on sustainability and waste reduction. One example is AccuAdjust, which we have recently introduced and are showcasing at the exhibition. It helps customers address material variability and reduce waste by minimising downtime during job changeovers, particularly when variations in materials or liners, or die-related challenges, affect production.

Our objective is to help converters perform their daily jobs better, faster and smarter.

Encouraging Response at the Exhibition

Q: How has the response been at LOUPE India 2026?

Maxcess team: It is only the first day, and we have been busy engaging with visitors since the morning. The response has been very encouraging from the outset, and we expect customer interactions to increase over the coming days.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to connect with existing customers, meet new prospects and discuss the challenges converters face in their operations.

Indian Market Remains Positive Despite Cost Pressures

Q: How do you assess demand in India over the past year, considering raw material price increases and wider economic challenges?

Maxcess team: There is no denying that the current situation is affecting prices. Plastics, for example, represent a significant share of consumption in our industry, and price escalation is creating challenges for printers and converters.

However, demand remains encouraging. We have seen year-on-year growth in our products, which indicates that the industry continues to grow despite the challenging economic environment.

The long-term sentiment among printers and converters remains positive. Although price escalation may slow the investment cycle somewhat, necessary investments are still taking place. This indicates that opportunities remain across the industry.

Localisation: A Global Strategy with Local Capabilities

Q: How important is localisation to Maxcess’s strategy?

Xuming Yuan: We are a US-based company with more than 2,000 employees and over 30 locations globally. However, our strategy places considerable emphasis on localisation, which we describe as “local for local”.

This means more than having local sales and marketing teams. We also work towards developing local design and engineering capabilities, understanding customer requirements and providing products suited to local applications.

Our objective is to understand the needs of each market and develop appropriate solutions. We remain a global company, but we also believe in making decisions locally wherever possible.

This approach helps us respond more effectively to customer needs and provide solutions that address the practical challenges converters face.

Expanding Local Repair and Service Capabilities

Q: What steps is Maxcess taking to strengthen its local service and manufacturing capabilities in India?

Maxcess team: We have already started this journey and will continue expanding our localisation efforts. We have established a repair workshop in Mumbai, which represents an initial step towards developing broader local capabilities.

As market demand and conditions evolve, we are prepared to expand our repair, assembly and manufacturing-related activities to support the Indian market.

Q: What services are available through the Mumbai repair workshop?

Niraj Narendra Muni, General Manager – India, Maxcess: Our repair workshop provides resharpening services for solid tools, helping converters extend the working life of their tooling.

We also repair magnetic cylinders and anvils. These services support sustainability by enabling customers to reuse their existing tools rather than replace them. This capability helps customers save time and money while making better use of their existing investments.

In addition, certain products, including Fife web guiding systems, can be retrofitted to existing machines. Customers looking to upgrade their equipment can explore retrofitting solutions for web guiding and slitting systems, as well as end wheels.

Our broad product portfolio enables us to address a wide range of converter requirements, whether they involve new equipment, upgrades, repairs or tooling support.

Fast Service, Quality and Technical Solutions

Q: What differentiates Maxcess in the market?

Xuming Yuan and Niraj Narendra Muni: One of our key priorities is helping converters overcome their everyday production challenges. Our solutions include precision magnetic cylinders, high-quality flexible dies and other technologies that help converters improve the way they work.

Fast service is one of our important strengths. We have made significant improvements in our responsiveness and in getting products and solutions to the market faster. Our customers appreciate these efforts, which gives us confidence to continue investing in service and technical support.

We want to provide technical solutions rather than compete only on price.

Quality is equally important. Customers cannot afford production stoppages or interruptions. By providing quality products and dependable service, we help them maintain production continuity and run their businesses more effectively.

Customer Perspective: A 20-Year Partnership with Maxcess

The value of Maxcess’s customer-focused approach is reflected in its long-standing relationships with converters. Mudrika Labels, which has worked with Maxcess for approximately 20 years, highlighted the importance of responsive support, personal relationships and continuous innovation.

Manish Desai from Mudrika Labels said, “We have been associated with Maxcess for the last 20 years, and we are proud to say that we love working with the company. The reason is the relationship it maintains with customers and the support it provides. Whenever there is an issue, the team responds quickly and comes forward to help.

The personal relationship also matters. It is a win-win situation for both sides. Maxcess is continuously developing new products and introducing new solutions, which is also of interest to Mudrika Labels and many other industry players.

We remain in touch with the team, particularly when something new is introduced to the market.”

The testimonial underlines how responsive service, personal engagement and product innovation can contribute to long-term partnerships in the converting industry.

Looking Ahead

Maxcess’s participation at LOUPE India 2026 reflects its continued focus on India’s growing labels and packaging converting market. Through investments in local repair services, assembly, engineering and technical support, the company is working to strengthen its ability to respond to customer requirements.

Its portfolio of web guiding, slitting, winding and tooling solutions is designed to help converters improve productivity, reduce waste and maintain production quality.

With India emerging as a key growth market for the company, Maxcess is focused on combining global expertise with local capabilities. Its priorities remain clear: quality products, faster service, practical technical solutions and lasting customer partnerships.
