Founded in 2011, Sicon Packs is a manufacturer & trader of various types of Self Adhesive Labels based in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra . The company caters to label requirements Oil and Gas industry, Food, Pesticides, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetic, Distillery, Wines, and other industries. The company initiated its manufacturing activities in 2001 by setting up a unit in Africa.
We spoke to Mr. Yudhviram Solanki, Managing Director of Sicon Packs. He said, “We started our business label by trading in Africa. After trading for nearly 10 years, in 2010, we set up our manufacturing plant for labels.”
“In 2008, we started our business in India. But recently we have set up a state of the art manufacturing plant of 15000 sq. ft. for labels in Navi Mumbai. Our plant is equipped with all high-tech machines in addition to a few machines we already had in India”.
Speaking on the installations, he said, “India is a growing economy and is growing at a faster rate, so to capitalize the opportunity, we thought of diversifying are the focus in India market. Recently, we have installed the Weigang Narroweb label printing press and Pulisi inspection machine. Weigang machine is economical and delivers best result. Most of our machines are from Intergraphic and they have always delivered good service whenever required and have well addressed all our issues.”
Intergraphic is an authorise dealer for Pulisi automatic inspection and slitting machine. The company has done numerous successful installations in India and abroad.
“We try to add a machine in every two years, increasing our production line up year-on-year. We are happy with the performance of the Weigang machine. It gives us a good ROI. Based on the business, we might explore European machine in future.”
Mr. Yudhviram is assisted by Mr. Mithesh Parmar, who looks after the plant and technicals, & by Mr. Devendra Solanki, who has recently joined the business and looks after the sales and business development.
Devendra added, “Indian Label market is growing by 25% year-on-year. Startups are also gaining ground in India with specific requirements in the labels sector. Make in India is also one factor that has pushed the growth levels in India. The competitors keep us on our toes to give good service to the clients.”
