Parksons Packaging in association with HP initiates revolution through Digital Printing capabilities

India’s leading packaging solutions provider for folding cartons Parksons Packaging in association with HP organizes the event Onboxing at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai for all the brand owner and packaging convertor on 21st January where they showcased the infinite possibilities of Digital technology that HP Indigo 30000 could provide with folding cartons.

Talking about the event Onboxing, Siddharth Kejriwal, managing director of Parksons Packaging said, “Onboxing is the event all about introducing the brand owners to the world of digital printing technology. We have invested into HP indigo 30000 press for folding cartons. This event is all about educating the brand owners and convertors about the machine capabilities and what they can actually do with their package. Onboxing is the word which we coined because we thought it was aped for what we are trying to showcase. We all have seen unboxing videos where it is exciting to see the boxes been opened and the experience which consumer get using the product, Digital printing is all about printing on the box, it’s about creating on-box experience. It’s not just what’s inside but what is there on the package and that is how the word Onboxing was perfectly coined for the event.”

Parksons Packaging is the India’s first company to buy HP Indigo 30000 digital press for folding cartons in August last year. Since then the company has delivered more than 1000 clientele jobs from the press using various different substrates that gave them the confidence and the idea to deliver the precise and innovative product to the customer. With a print speed of up to 4600 color B2-size sheets per hour; backing of seven-color gamut; and substrate provision thinness of 250-600 microns the machine is an engineering marvel. 

Speaking about the need and value addition through Digital printing, he further said, “We at Parksons Packaging represent the life-cycle of a brand who uses folding carton. Our belief is as the world is moving more towards e-commerce, personalization and customization there is an opportunity to build value for a brand owners using the digital platform. It is an extension of our solution where we now can provide digital printing solution to brand owner that complement with what we were able to do using offset printing technology. It’s creating new dimension that provides brand owners to able to create more success story for the brand with something which is different. It’s also creating opportunities for the brand to explore more and to engage more with the customers.”

Speaking about the marketing strategy, Mr.Appadurai, Country manager for HP indigo and Pagewide Web Press Solutions said, “HP strategy is always to providing education to the brands and fulfilling the brand requirement which is where you create the pool for a buy. So we plan to go all out with Parksons in terms of giving brands and agencies the education which is required to adopt digital technology to get the value from the digital technology. It is like a ball, if you start the ball to roll, it will build the momentum and keeps on rolling.”

Talking about the growing demand for shorter run length job and its price justification in digital printing, “It’s a global trend, even in India the runs are getting shorter because you are creating more and more product variation, and the extension of product created are more personalize and customize therefore requires shorter runs. One of the challenges which a brand owner faces is, as they launch more and more premium products though they are short run, but they still want to maintain the higher standard of quality. Digital printing allows you to print short run effectively, there is color consistency and premium product produced is the part of entire value chain which a person have to look at it before considering the cost. The other advantage is now you can have high quality printing on demand, regardless the size of the order you can expect it in no time. So cost in digital printing cannot be looked in an isolation, the factors which needs to be considered are high quality printing, premium packaging and swift delivery.”
