Swapnali Labels Pvt. Ltd (a sister concern company of Megohm Digipack) is a leading manufacturer of stickers and labels for cosmetics & toiletries, chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverages, and automobile industries. Gopal Shankar Yadav is the Managing Director of Swapnali Labels.

Talking more about Swapnali Labels and Megohm Digipack, Swapnali Yadav said, ”At Swapnali Labels, we undertake long-run jobs on the two conventional 8-colour and 9-colour flexo machines bought from Alliance Graphics. Megohm only caters to the digital printing industry, like Short-Run, Mock-ups, etc. We have done the bifurcation so that the customers are clear about the approach. Swapnali Labels was formed in 2013. At Swapnali Labels, everything revolves around improving the quality, economy and embellishment of the customer’s products.’

‘I have been interested in labelling since childhood because I was fascinated with all the production processes. Before going for my Master’s, I worked for nearly a year with my father, and after completing the Master’s and returning to India, I started working with him again. I am an intermediate in the labelling business, but I want to explore it entirely and be an expert.’

Speaking about the digital printing industry, she adds, ‘Every company require packaging for their products. We are focusing on digital printing because we have realised that there will be superlative growth in the digital arena through startups and government initiatives. The print runs are also getting lesser and lesser, which makes digital printing more feasible.

‘Our prepress team works with the company in making the packaging design. We always initiate the ideas from the packaging buyers about their packaging design. We wanted to inform and educate the packaging buyers on how vital and impressive digital printing is and how quickly you can get the packaging. Any production quantity below 5000 labels we considered it as a short-run job. But as the technology evolves, these figures may change in the future, and the technology may get cheaper, then we consider 10,000 or 15,000 quantities relevant for the short-run.’

Talking about her learning at the LMAI conference 2023, she says, ‘We are experts in labels but want to explore the flexible packaging segment. This is my first year at the LMAI conference, and it’s very informative. We can look forward to the new technology that is arriving. We see digital as the future as we talk about sustainability and innovation. Digital is the only answer and the hidden word. Digital will complement the conventional flexo printing for Labels. I have learnt a lot in the two days of the LMAI conference. Here, we can gauge what the challenges are in our label industry.’
