Based in New Delhi, M D graphics is engaged in manufacturing and supplying various printing products. In their production facility, they own Cut-Sheet Digital Printing Machine, Offset Press, Flexo Press and a large format Digital Printing machine. With the Konica Minolta Accurio Label230 Roll-to-Roll machine installation, they plan to expand their Digital Printing business and enter into a new-age Digital Label application.

Speaking to us, the proprietor of M D Graphics, Mr.Dhiraj, explains their challenges in exploring new sectors and the advantage of installing Accurio Label 230 to overcome the difficulties.

He says, “We have three production units in India, i.e., Delhi, Dehradun and Ahmedabad that helps us to carter pan India require with ease. Before Accurio Label230, we were only catering to the Home Appliances industry, but now we are a company that provides Label solutions to FMCG, Cosmetics, and Pharma companies. We will be catering to the demand of companies and start-ups that requires innovative and Digital Labelling solutions.

Speaking about the challenges, he said, “It is our new venture and there are many challenges for us; for example, the demand from the brand keeps on changing from time to time, in every one or two months there is a technology change and there is a demand of the new product from the brand. Previously, we used to manufacture all products in our Flatbed Digital UV machine because we did not possess digital labeling printing equipment but now we have Konica Minolta Accurio Label230. There is huge scope in Food, Pharma and FMCG industry, but since we are the beginner in the industry, we have to face some challenges, but we are confident, that as our experience grows gradually, we will be start getting recognised by the brands.”

The success of digital print is prompting brands to experiment with marketing – improving approval ratings and brand loyalty from consumers – and meeting new regulatory demands and evolving new business models. As new digital print technology continues to emerge, brands are taking advantage of the new capability for total variability, allowing them to boost performance and engagement by offering new customer experiences. There are many creative and innovative examples of brands using digital print to create personalised labels and packs to appeal to different market sections.

Today is the era of new-age marketing; brands want to have one-on-one communication with the end customer; they want to know the preference of their end-user and want to offer more products with additional features. Every company wants to get connected with their end-user with digital marketing and the only way to get close to them is the medium of Digital Label application. A company or brand can put their QR Code, Variable Data, Augmented Reality, or Virtual Reality with a digital label. And with these digital tools, they can get close to the end-user and maintain relationships for future purchases.

Speaking about Accurio Label 230, Dhiraj said, “The operation of Accurio Label230 is also very smooth in comparison with the sheetfed machine, we do not have to run this machine for the whole day because it is very fast in production, so we have scheduled time slots for operating this machine. It is currently installed at our Delhi plant, but we plan to install it at our Dehradun plant after evaluating the performance. Besides Accurio Label 230, we also possess roll-to-roll Screen Printing equipment, Offset Press, Flexo Press and eight Digital Sheetfed machines. After getting this roll-to-roll digital labeling machine, we have almost given after Sheetfed production. In Accurio Label 230, rejection is minimized to a vast extent, and manual work is also reduced because everything is automated.

Vijay Kamat, from Konica Minolta says, “Konica Minolta and MD graphics will closely work together to develop the market for M D Graphics and explore new features of Digital Label printing equipment, like non-cloneable QR code, Augmented reality many other features which are not available in the market currently. We wanted to give more value to our relationship with the client than instead just selling the product.

We are participating in various label & packaging exhibitions to promote digital label applications, where we demonstrate all our customer samples done in our press. We connect our customers to all those brand and corporate manufacturers that are visiting our stall.”
