Based out of Ahmedabad, MBR Group boasts a long lineage in business encompassing five decades and three generations. The group eventually forayed into label printing with the unveiling of MBR Flexibles as a new division housing two separate units—one exclusively for labels and another for flexible packaging manufacturing. Labels Flexibles & More magazine traces the company’s continuing journey into the world of labels.

Origin of MBR Group is dated back to the 1960s when the group’s mainstay of business revolved around dye-chemicals, textile auxiliaries, and bulk intermediates. The group however never ever remained stagnant in expanding its business from one vertical to another. In 2010, MBR Flexibles was opened as the group’s new and imperative division devoted to manufacturing labels and flexible packaging solutions.

A league of five young & enthusiastic Directors is currently at the helm of MBR Flexibles’ two units. Mr Sahil Chopra and Mr Yash Chopra, Directors of MBR Flexibles Ltd, take care of the division’s label printing unit. Whilst, Mr Siddharth Chopra, Mr Sagar Chopra, and Mr Mohit Chopra, Directors of MBR Flexibles Ltd, look after the division’s flexible packaging manufacturing unit. Highly cost-effective, durable, sustainable, and invincible labels as well as out-of-the-box flexible packaging solutions are produced from the two units of MBR Flexibles.

When it comes to counting the key machines & equipment currently running productively and efficiently at the production facility of MBR Flexibles, it’s a portfolio comprising a fleet of advanced flexographic presses, slitting-rewinding machines, and others. Two flexo presses in the portfolio are Mark Andy 2200 and Mark Andy Evolution Series E5. Mr Sahil says the two highly advanced Mark Andy presses have installed back to back in the production facility of MBR Flexibles.

Mr Sahil adds that the two new Mark Andy presses have uplifted the company’s overall printing and production capacity of premium quality labels and flexible packaging solutions to a whole new level. He further adds that the Mark Andy 2200 and Mark Andy Evolution Series E5 are the machines with substantial capacities, performances, values, and outputs.

Backed by a team of 200 well-experienced printing and production professionals, MBR Flexibles is capable to produce 900 to 1000 tons of flexible packaging products every month. In this, Mr Sahil remarks, “Commitment of our dedicated team as well as the prowess of the advanced machines like Mark Andy 2200, Mark Andy Evolution Series E5, Rhyguan Smart 450 slitter rewinder, and others in our facility is the vigor behind our quality outputs.”

Nicknamed as ‘workhorses of label printing’, Mark Andy 2200 and Mark Andy Evolution Series E5 presses are loaded with advanced features and capacities for efficiently handling maximum print width up to 17inch (430mm). Both the presses are perfectly designed and engineered to handle diverse jobs, right from self-adhesive labels to shrink sleeve & in-mold (IML) labels and many more.

A highly capable and ease-of-operation press, Mark Andy 2200 can operate at the maximum speed of 700fpm. Likewise, Mark Andy Evolution Series E5, which is capable to grow through retrofitable options, can operate at the maximum speed of 750fpm, catering print in 17inch web width.

MBR Flexibles’ flexible packaging solutions are catered to clients in the food and beverage sectors who produce dairy & cheese, snacks, seafood, meats, ready-to-eat meals, etc, and use pouches of different types and sizes, such as stand up, three side seal, kraft, spout, side gusset, and others. Other key sectors where dwelled the company’s clients include the pharmaceuticals, home & personal packaging, and agriculture packaging.

Beyond the domestic market, MBR Flexibles has a client base in the overseas market too. Middle East and Africa are two offshore destinations where the company caters its demanding products and solutions. Mr Sahil says they are endeavoring to take MBR Flexibles to a new height by constantly upgrading the machine portfolio, expanding client base, and growing footprints in new geographies, either at domestic or international level.

Mr Sahil conclusively says that in today’s highly competitive landscape of printing & packaging market, efficiency is the key to success and MBR Flexibles’ next strategic move in this is to adopt more advanced machines and equipment for unpacking new products and solutions to foray into the newer market segments.
