The Talwad unit of Sai Paks experienced a severe fire incident, leading to the complete destruction of goods and machinery valued at approximately ₹14 crore. Fortunately, all workers were safely evacuated, and there was no reported loss of life.

Sai Paks, a leading printing packaging company based in Pune, faced a significant fire incident at its gauver unit located at Talwade, Ganesh Nagar, beside Huma Bakery, Pune – 411062.

While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, however, it is estimated that the fire began during a gold foiling operation for a patch job when the first station unexpectedly ignited, leading to an ink barrel explosion. This resulted in a rapid escalation of the fire, affecting the lamination machine as well. Fortunately, all three employees present at the site were safely evacuated. Despite the arrival of 12 fire extinguisher trucks, the blaze proved difficult to control due to the presence of inks and chemicals.

This fire incident has resulted in a complete loss of the impacted machinery, which includes the Sanmach 8-color printing, lamination, UV coating, slitter, and XL pouching machines. Additionally, various stocks have been destroyed, including PVC rolls, BOPP rolls, PET, METPET, inks, CPP, paper, miscellaneous solvents, aluminum foils, paper cores, and finished goods. The total estimated loss amounts to 13-14 crores, encompassing both machinery and stock. Currently, the insurance survey, fire survey, and police panchanama are underway.

We acknowledge the recent fire incident at our Talwade plant, as expressed by Tejas Samarth, Director of Sai Paks. While we are deeply disappointed and concerned about the situation, we want to assure our clients that our other two units are fully operational. To minimize any disruption, we have redirected all client orders to these facilities and have increased our staffing to effectively manage the additional workloads. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.
