CMPL is an exceptional platform catering to converters, attracting brands from various sectors who are keen to explore a wide array of products. At CMPL, Letra Graphix proudly showcased a diverse selection of labels designed for multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals, lubricants, and food and beverages. Additionally, the company offered premium labels specifically crafted for wine and liquor bottles, ensuring that they meet the unique needs of our clients across different markets.

Letra Graphix made a notable impression at the CMPL expo by showcasing their innovative label designs. During the event, Labels Flexibles and More had the opportunity to speak with Sahil Shah, the director and son of managing director Nirav Shah, who shared insights about the company’s latest offerings and their commitment to advancing label technology. This interaction highlighted the importance of collaboration and innovation in the packaging industry.

He said, “In our organization, we manage a diverse range of segments on a daily basis, with personal care being our core focus. In addition to this, we have expanded our operations into pharmaceuticals, lubricants, food and beverages, and most recently, the alcohol industry. While my background is in marketing, my current role is primarily operational, overseeing production and planning. I also have responsibilities in marketing and sales, as sales management falls under my department. This multifaceted approach allows us to adapt to various markets and meet the needs of our customers effectively.”

Trends in Labels

The demand for embellishments in liquor labels is on the rise, as companies are willing to invest significantly in imported materials to enhance their packaging appeal. In light of increasing concerns over duplication, there is also a growing focus on security printing technologies to protect brand integrity.

Similarly, the personal care market is witnessing a trend where brands are experimenting with innovative front panel designs. They are moving beyond traditional foiling techniques to incorporate gold and multiple foiling options, including colored foils that can produce stunning holographic effects. This trend indicates a clear desire among brands to differentiate themselves and captivate consumers with visually striking packaging.

In recent observations of the pharmaceutical market, it’s clear that while pharma navigate a fluctuating market, they remain resilient. In the realm of packaging, simplicity reigns supreme, as pharmaceutical companies prioritize the clarity of their product labels. However, there’s a growing trend towards more detailed and functional designs, leading to an increased adoption of booklet and multilayer labels. This is particularly important as many products are exported, necessitating labels in multiple languages to cater to diverse markets. Additionally, with the trend toward smaller bottles, there is an increased demand for comprehensive product information. To address concerns over product duplication, pharmaceutical companies are also exploring enhanced security features to protect their brands and ensure consumer safety.

In the past year, we’ve observed notable growth across all sectors, particularly within the personal care industry. One of the key aspects driving this growth is the evolution of labeling technologies and design innovations. Numerous new players are entering the market, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives. Additionally, the volume of products associated with these new labels is on the rise, indicating a robust trend that various companies have experienced over the last eighteen months. This momentum suggests an exciting phase for the personal care sector as it adapts and responds to emerging technologies and consumer preferences.

We proudly supply our products across Pan India and beyond, with 20 percent of our business dedicated to exports. Our international clientele includes markets in the US, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and various regions in Africa, and we are actively exploring opportunities in new countries. It include both direct and indirect exports. For our export orders, we offer flexibility in shipping methods; larger orders are typically transported by container, while urgent or smaller quantities are sent via air freight. We’ve noticed that our export customers tend to plan and time their orders meticulously, as they are aware of the expected transit times. This level of planning is crucial, as the turnaround time (TAT) remains consistent with that of our local customers.

It’s important for our customers to gain a clearer understanding of our process, as it involves more complexities than they might realize. While we occasionally face pressure for expedited delivery times, such as one or two days, these timelines are often impractical and may not reflect our actual lead times. This disconnect can lead to misconceptions about our ability to deliver. Our hope is that brands will come to appreciate the intricacies of our work and the realities of our timelines in the future.
