Citrus Packaging Solutions, located in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, has established itself as a prominent player in the label and packaging industry since its inception in 2017 by Chenga Reddy. The company specializes in providing advanced packaging solutions tailored to the pharmaceuticals, ophthalmology, medical devices, and security sectors. Recently, Mr. Reddy, along with the Provin Technos Pvt. Ltd. team, who serve as the official distributor for Spande equipment in India, visited the Spande manufacturing facility in Shanghai. During this visit, they successfully finalized the purchase of a Spande S7 8-color CI flexo press, further enhancing Citrus’s capabilities in delivering high-quality packaging solutions.

The Spande S7 flexo press offers advanced automation, high flexibility, and user-friendly features, including

  • Dual die-cutting stations, lamination unit, and sheeter for carton production.
  • 8 servo motors per unit, intelligent auto-registration (iVision), and automatic pressure adjustment (iPressure).
  • Support for a wide range of substrates from 12 to 450 microns, including 450 gsm boards.
  • Hybrid curing system using LED-UV, UV, and hot air cassettes.
  • Chilled impression cylinders for printing on thin and extensible materials.

Citrus’ recent investment in advanced flexo technology showcases a commitment to innovation and operational simplicity. As highlighted by Mr. Reddy, “Even a layman can operate this press. All he or she has to do is feed in the substrate thickness, drop in the flexo plate cylinders, and press the start button.” This user-friendly approach not only enhances efficiency but also supports Citrus’ strategic expansion into RFID label and tagging solutions for the premium retail, pharmaceutical, and luxury segments, positioning the company for future growth in these competitive markets.

The live demonstration for the press is scheduled to take place at Labelexpo Europe in Barcelona this September. Following the demonstration, the press will be shipped and installed at Citrus’ plant in Hyderabad, with the installation expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2025. This marks an important step in our commitment to enhancing our production capabilities.
