“Counterfeiting remains a significant challenge in India, with nearly 20 to 30% of products across various categories being counterfeit. As a vice president of ASPA, I want to emphasize that treating anti-counterfeit solutions merely as an expense can be a costly misconception. For instance, consider a company with product sales totalling 100 crore. If 10% of that, equating to 20 crores, is lost due to counterfeiting, and the profit margin is just 10%, the loss amounts to 2 crores. However, investing in an effective anti-counterfeit solution for only 20 lakhs can save substantial money and preserve the brand’s reputation. It’s crucial to view these solutions not as costs but as essential investments for brand protection and long-term profitability.
