At Labelexpo India 2022, Loparex India promoted the next-generation Thermal Linerless Labels.

LabelExpo India is one of South Asia’s most significant exhibition events for Labels and Packaging Printing. The event occurred from 10th-13th November 2022 at India Expo Mart, New Delhi. More than 250 exhibitors participated in the Expo. The show took place after a gap of 4 years; hence the energy and expectations from the show were high.

Loprex India were one of the prominent participants of the show, where they promoted the Thermal Linerless Labels.

The Innovative – Thermal Linerless Labels

Speaking about the new development, Manish Jain, Managing Director at Loparex India, said, “Loparex India has launched a new product in the industry –Thermal Linerless Labels. The concept of introducing anything in linerless had the possibility of backfiring. We were going to tell converters not to use Release Paper but to use the roll that had silicone coating on one side and an adhesive coating on the other. The concept was challenging, but we saw the brighter side of the idea. We partnered with one of our customer, Allied Speciality Paper, who manufacture their own Thermal Paper in-house manufacturing unit. We approached them for adhesive coating.”

Advantages of Thermal Linerless Labels

Thermal Linerless Labels are labels that do not have any Release Paper. With 100% elimination of Release Paper, the silicone coating is done on the Thermal Paper itself and is self-wound with Hotmelt Adhesive sandwiched in between. The benefits of Thermal Linerless Labels are:

  1. Environmentally Friendly.
  2. Zero use of Release Paper.
  3. Increases Production Efficiency.
  4. Extended age of the print matter on the Label.
  5. More Labels/roll.
  6. Zero dispose of waste.

Manish Desai of Mudrika Labels presenting a memento to Manish Jain at LMAI conference in 2019

First introduced at the LMAI conference.

“Way back in 2019, Loaprex India gave a presentation on Thermal Linerless Labels at the Label Manufacturing Association of India Conference (LMAI). We had stressed on the need for label sustainability. Unfortunately, we had received a very lukewarm response at that time as the Indian Label industry was not geared up for this change.”

“Here at the LabelExpo India, Allied Speciality Paper demonstrated the actual running of the label over a desktop printer, and we displayed the actual roll itself at our Booth. We were confident that the product would be an eye-opener to the industry, and we expect an encouraging response. Every Label converter from the industry wanted to have a trial sample.” adds Manish.

“The pandemic has drained us physically, emotionally, and professionally. The exhibition is an excellent platform to reconnect physically and get rid of virtual meetings with Customers. We couldn’t wait to network with others in the industry, learn more about the new trend and product launches, and take home knowledge we can apply to our current processes and product enhancements.” Jain concludes.
