KONICA Minolta poised to gain grounds in INDIA

In LabelExpo India 2018, the company displayed AccurioLabel 190 – a digital roll-to-roll printer. Labels flexibles & More spoke to Managing Director Mr.Daisuke Mori; Deputy General Manager PP & IP Marketing Division Mr.Manish Gupta and Vice President Sales Division Mr.Kuldeep Malhotra.


Daisuke Said, “India is one of the highest growing economy in the world, the GDP is simultaneously growing with the population. Every year 20 million people are added to the population so it is a huge market. Our business is equally rising in India and at good pace, it is one of the fastest growing markets for Konica Minolta. Our sixth largest subsidiary business in the world. In the digital label printing segment, we are promoting AccurioLabel 190 – a digital roll-to-roll printer”


Talking about Konica Minolta business triumph in India, Kuldeep said, “Konica Minolta have over 50% market share in digital printing machine in India. In last 7 years, we have sold 5000 digital devices that is used in different segment and achieved a scale of 93% satisfied customer. We have built a strong base to launch this AccurioLabel 190. We help our customer to grow their business and introduced to their end customers in an event, exhibition, road shows, etc. Now we have good service network in India and well experienced engineers to support our clients.”


Speaking about the need of digital equipment in production, Manish says, “The convertors and printers are dealing with corporates today who’s demand are very versatile and varies on daily basis. The digital machine will help the printers to fulfill the requirement of corporate customers. Our motive is not to replace the conventional traditional Flexo machine but to add digital equipment as a supplementary unit in production line for short run job, variable data printing, print on demand, etc. The machine gives consistent quality; it has quick registration; accurate color consistency and is high speed.


“The make-in-India initiative by our honorary PM will have more manufacturers who will require small quantity of labels. Digital gives an advantage of customization and personalization. In India every state has their different regional language, digital gives an advantage of doing small quantity with personalization patterns. The AccurioLabel 190 gives faster ROI whereas it is not in case of other machines of same standard.” Adds Kuldeep.


Sharing about their R & D division Manish says, “After every installation, our team is constantly taking inputs from the customer which is then forwarded to R & D team who does the updation in the machine, if necessary and this is how we upgrade our machine in regular intervals.”


“In Europe, we have a tied-up with GM for the un-winders and re-winders. Our company have already reached to a level of 600 crore company last year that was our biggest achievement. Konica Minolta is providing short run solution through AccurioLabel 190. It is a unique and reliable machine and we hardly see any competition with this. There are more than 250 AccurioLabel 190 installed world over, most in US, Europe, Japan and Korea. It is a reliable product and the customer are appreciating it.” Concludes Daisuke
