At the Erhardt-leimer (E+L) group stand at PlastIndia 2018, we met Seshahri Rajaram, Managing Director, who is part of E+L, since its inception. Rajaram is a mechanical engineer from IIT Madras and did management from IIM Ahmedabad. Over the period of 40 years, he has witnessed the growth of company from 30 lacs to 100 crores turnover. E+L produces specialised web controls and automation system for paper converting and flexible packaging machinery. Apart from that, E+L has a licence agreement with soft tell to manufacture Corona treatment system, which is one of the critical accessory for print industry.
According to Rajaram, today the guiding system and the tension control systems are turning more and more sophisticated, from digital system we are moving one step ahead to industry 4.0 compliance that means most of the system can be remotely operated and diagnosed which becomes easier for the service engineer to detect the issues at customer's end.
Keeping abreast with the digital era, E+L showcased ethernet compliant digital guiding system with a brushless Servo Motor that can be easily set up and has a high error correction speed. Apart from it, company also showcased OMS 6 - web inspection system that has got better picture quality among all the inspection system available in the market. OMS 6 has undergone a blind test in Germany where picture quality was shown to customers on four different machines and the customers found the picture of promising quality. “At the end of the day, picture quality is more important in any inspection system. We also have a new digital compact tension monitoring system that can be used to monitor a web break. We are a technology leader and offer a better service with the help of over 65 employees in sales and service that can reach to the customers located in the remote corners of the country,” Rajaram stated.
